DALL-E 3 was severely restricted over the last week and it’s clear that OpenAI has added in massive IP filters.
But why didn’t they do this at the start? Sam Altman is running a big company now. Why release something like this that they knew was going to really make a lot of people both mad and then mad when they pulled it away?
There’s a number of possible reasons but it’s entirely possible that they wanted people to know that it was this capable to turn it into a different product down the road.
Just because you can’t access the IP doesn’t mean it’s not in the model anymore.
