Cyberpunk 2077 made news by announcing they used AI to bring back voice actor Miłogost "Miłek" Reczek after he’d recently passed away.
They did ask ahead of time and got permission of the family and checked all the boxes about making this “ok” but people still got up in arms.
We *should* be able to do this when it makes sense but the larger question this raises is…
What does it mean for actors when they’re going to have compete for roles not only amongst their peers but with all actors in recorded history?
It’s a thorny issue and one being taken up in part by the current SAG/AFTRA strike.
