HUGE BREAKING NEWS: Sam Altman is out at OpenAI.
It seems insane and out of the blue but the board has removed Sam Altman from his position as CEO of OpenAI and replacing him with Mina Murati, formerly the Chief Science Officer.
It’s rare to have a shake up like this happen anywhere in tech or business but to have one happen like this at this level with a company this ascendent feels remarkably crazy and we’re fascinated by the backstory.
